Learning
Maritime Greenwich is significant as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historic Royal associations that established its artistic and scientific endeavours throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, an ensemble of unique and iconic buildings and the designed landscape of its Royal Park. Key learnings can be identified in four principal themes: Maritime, Royal, Science and Architecture, related to what can be seen and experienced within the boundaries of this important site.
Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a wealth of great learning experiences from partner organisations responsible for its management including Royal Museums Greenwich, Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich Park and St Alfege Church. Our aim is to encourage young people to learn about the World Heritage Site, about the history and traditions of their own and other cultures, heritage conservation, the importance of ecology and protecting biodiversity.
Whether you are able to visit in person or on-line, our partners welcome schools, universities, community groups and youth groups from the UK and overseas, and offer fun activities for families during the holiday periods.
